| The
original house was a small cottage on a comparatively large piece of land, and
the owner loves to garden. She needed more space for herself and guests, so we
added a second story.
The new upstairs connects through a light-filled stairwell
with clerestory windows, and includes a bathroom, a bedroom, and an office with
a guestroom alcove. Downstairs, we reconfigured the kitchen and a bedroom to become
a new larger kitchen with an eating area. | west seattle house
