| The
owners of this house love to cook and invite friends to share meals with them.
They needed a well-designed kitchen to enjoy this to its full potential, as well
as a more usable family room upstairs. We created a new heart for the house: a
comfortable place for cooking and spending time with family and friends. The new
two-story addition extended the kitchen, added an eating area, and put the cooking
area at the center. The kitchen now connects the view and the dining room to the
porch. The second level of the addition increased the openness and comfort of
